Welcome to Garden Coaching with Marlene

Since retiring from the full-time workforce two years ago, one of my favorite places in the world is my Indiana yard. About five years ago I had to install a new septic system (the joys of country living) and had to lay waste to my beautiful wooded backyard. As you can see from the pictures, I am slowly rebuilding, and raising vegetables, fruits, herbs, and native plants has become my passion. I’ve been gardening for several years without a clear direction, but last year I discovered the Gardenary way of growing vegetables, fruits, herbs, and native perennials. Gardenary stands for Gardening is Ordinary and is all about the right plant in the right place at the right time.

I’ve spent lots of time and money trying to figure out how, when, where, and even why I wanted to garden. I wish I had found this method of doing things before I spent so much time experimenting. I probably could have spent all of those “research” dollars on a really nice setup, and my garden would have looked functional and beautiful years ago! I have to tell you - I’ve made some pretty embarrassing mistakes and led many beautiful plants to an untimely demise - so don’t do what I did. Let's embark on this growing journey together!
